Greetings from the Nation’s Capital – Washington, DC! I went to college and law school here so this city holds such a special place in my heart. I get nostalgic for that time in my life any time I visit – this is where I made the transition from my parents’ home to adulthood. I am fortunate to still have some great friends here to visit, and one of my college roommates happened to be in town from the other side of the world. How lucky can you get? I love old friends that know you in a way that new friends don’t – before you had a career, a husband and kids. When my biggest concerns were whether I should go out on a Saturday night dancing to Sesto Senso or to the 18th Street lounge for a chill evening….ahhh priceless.
Washington, DC has changed so much since I lived here. The city is expanding and changing rapidly but the beauty remains the same. You go to the mall and visit the monuments and it feels so peaceful and serene. I took these pics in front of the reflecting pool at the Lincoln Memorial and had a fun afternoon sightseeing.
GAP crop top, Zara skort, Valentino bag, Target birkenstocks, Hérmes bracelet, Cartier bracelets, Chanel watch, Miu Mui sunnies, pearl earrings, necklace via St. Barts travel (love this Baublebar tassel necklace and this J. Crew tassel necklace )
Since I knew I would be sightseeing today I wanted to be comfortable yet chic. I actually found todays spark – the chambray top from GAP in the kids section! I couldn’t resist pairing it with my comfortable Zara Skort ( versatile as well – dressy skort styling here), and with so much city walking the Birkenstocks seemed the way to go. I know, I know who would have thought chic could be created with the words – skort, crop top and Birkenstocks? I really enjoyed this outfit and I felt great in it all day as I explored the city – what do you think?
p.s Washington, DC humidity gave my hair a run for its money!
I would love to know where have you found fabulous fashion finds?
Hope your having a great weekend!
