I hope everyone has been having a wonderful week! Unfortunately I have been under the weather with this crazy cough that has gone around (I have not spent this much time recuperating in bed in years….) On a positive note, as part of my R&R, I discovered a new binge-worthy series – American Crime. Have you seen it? It is extremely gritty, but I have enjoyed the premise – following one crime over the span of each season. I became so invested in the characters in season one that I had to take a break to recover for a bit after the explosive ending (insert crazy eye emoticon). Season two was a completely different story line, but still very relevant to issues in current society (I cannot imagine what the crime will be in season 3, but I am waiting with bated breath!)
Also as part of my recovery I decided to clean up my computer, and I came across these pics that were never posted! I love accessories in general, and scarves are one of my absolute favorites. They are great as an accent accessory, as a pop of color, to elevate a casual outfit, or simply to keep you warm in those frigid Houston restaurants or movie theaters. There are a multitude of ways they can be styled, and I have shared five options below (coupled with my casual jogger pants.) These pants are amazing as a casual errand look with kicks, and fun with heels (the juxtaposition of joggers with heels is just spot-on cool!)
1 – The simple one loop – the baby step into wearing a scarf. It is carelessly chic.
Zara belt (old)
Chanel bag, Zara shoes (old)
2 – the donut. Scarf wrapped tightly around neck and ends tucked in.
3 – Pull bottom loop down a bit for a slightly different take on the wrap-around donut.
4 – The waterfall – this one is a bit tougher, but you start with the first styling and leave one side much longer than the other. The longer side of the scarf is then draped across and tucked under the part by your neck (this produces a looser, more draped look…)
5 – My personal favorite in the Houston heat – the scarf as a bag accessory. Tie it on to the chain or handle and it becomes a great pop of color…..
Have a great week!
