I hope everyone is having a fabulous week! I am a huge tennis fan – I used to be a very avid player, but unfortunately I haven’t been able to play nearly as much I as used to. I still love watching it a great deal, however, and Houston is currently playing host to the U.S. Men’s Clay Court Championship. If you have never been to the tournament, I highly advise going – it is a wonderfully intimate setting to watch some excellent tennis. Part of the tournament involves the elaborate Tootsies Fashion Show, and this year might have been the best ever. In honor of some of the featured looks, I am going to continue with the floral theme today.
Suno dress via Saks, Club Monaco moto jacket (no longer available but another great Club Monaco green jacket option), Aquazzura shoes (this seasons color is violet and they are FABULOUS), MoPho wallet, Ann Taylor Loft necklace (not available but this AT Loft necklace would look great with dress), Taylor & Tessier cuff, Saint Laurent ring, Chanel watch, Cartier bracelets, ZEROUV sunglasses (thanks Lucky Fabb)
No question about it, the Suno stretch silk cutout waist dress is the spark! I recently went to an event at Saks where I met the designers behind Suno – Max Osterweis and Erin Beatty. I was fortunate enough to see a preview of their latest collection and it was amazing!! If you are not familiar with Suno, it was a 2011 and 2012 finalist in the Vogue/CFDA Fashion Fund, and a 2012 Nominee and 2013 Winner of the CFDA Swarovski Award for Womenswear (so excited for you neophytes that I get to introduce you to this amazing brand!) Suno uses unique prints and embroideries that are inspired by global destinations such as Kenya, Peru and India. As you can see from the photographs, the floral print on this dress is unique. The purple eggplant color is so vibrant and rich in person that I cannot quite describe it (and pictures do not do it justice…..)
The tiny cut out at the waist made me apprehensive at first, but once I tried it on I loved the peek-a-boo effect.
The yellow/marigold color of these suede shoes makes me happy every time!
The Toosties Fashion Show this year was called “Wild Thing”, and the showmanship and style of the show was incredible. The show was broken into six categories:
Wild Kingdom – which was full of beautiful leopard prints (I couldn’t be any happier)
True Colors – which had a neon streak throughout (full of happy lemon colors and cobalt)
High Def – there was a lot of black and white with graphic elements
In Bloom – amazing prints and embroideries with floral prints
Edge of Night – bold gold and black ensembles
Let There Be Light – white on white on white and some blush colors as well
Here are some pics I took of the show so you can get a feel for all the beautiful things!
Hope you are having a fabulous weekend and I will see you guys Monday (promise)!
