I hope everyone had a great weekend! I am in a red kind of mood these days (see here and here) and this entire outfit started with my Gucci floral bag. Gucci has been having a crazy few years! You cannot open a fashion magazine or a look up trends without coming across Gucci – backless loafers, amazing bags and even the midi pleat skirt seems to have all emerged from the Gucci collections. The new creative designer Alessandro Michele took over in 2015 and things have not been this hot for the couture house since the Tom Ford years (I am swooning remembering those collections and cherish the pieces even today).
I adore this bag! It is beautifully made – the blossoms are hand painted on the leather to give it a chic yet girly feel and I love the silver hardware (which is a refreshing change of pace). I have worn this bag with everything from casual jeans to a night out with Mr. Wonderful. It is a great investment piece and a real show stopper!
I hope everyone is having a great weekend! This is going to be a quick post because I am going to go enjoy this gorgeous day with a round of tennis!
I wore this outfit earlier this week to the University of Women’s Table Talk event – I came across this top online and immediately fell in love with it. In Houston heat a thin cotton sleeve top with a trendy big sleeve is spot on for summer! This top also comes in a beautiful blue gingham print which makes me swoon (purple gingham, and blue cotton – all great for the heat ahead). I added a full skirt and fringe heels and was ready to roll.
Hope everyone had a great weekend! I want to share a quick post with you about my new favorite designer – Caroline Constas. I love the voluminous shapes in her tops and dresses. It is a refreshing and edgy take on fashion using weightless cottons (which is a must for Houston heat, which is still going strong…) Her clothing has recently attracted a cult-like following and new items sell out rapidly. I decided to balance the sleeves with some volume on the bottom via flares, but this top would look equally good with skinny black jeans (preferably distressed!)
