I want to share some fun ideas for holiday party outfits. I adore capes (remember this one here) and this one is perfect. It is light in weight and thus perfect for layering and the length and shape is divine. I have worn it casually over jeans and skinnies and love that it can be used across the spectrum from cocktail parties to girls lunch.
The layered eyelet dress with a skin tone color underneath is very popular right now and this dress is a great way to indulge in the trend. I adore the subtle sexy element of it without actually showing any skin. I threw on the belt and heels and I was ready to roll.
I hope everyone had a wonderful summer! Sorry I have been missing for so long, but I really wanted to take the summer off and focus on my family and friends. It was an absolutely amazing summer of travel adventures and I cannot wait to share pictures with you. I am starting today with pics from Rosemary Beach – or as I like to call it, Paradise on earth.
J. Crew top, Chanel bag, BCBG belt, ZARA shoes, pearl necklace, tassel necklace Per•spi•cas•ity, Cartier bracelets, Gurhan ring, Chanel watch, Zero UV sunnies
Let me start out by saying thank you so much for all of your kind words, comments and emails. It meant the world to me and made my InStyle appearance that much better (didn’t know that was possible – in case you haven’t seen it check it out InStyle black and white reader look featured here). As I mentioned in my last post, I have been under the weather recently and it has been a slow road back to the land of the living. Since I barely want to get dressed each morning, this post features a fun dress down option – pajama wear.
Hope you’re having a fabulous week! We all know I love leather pants (see here and here), and they have become such an integral part of my wardrobe that I cannot remember a time without them. After the last post on Spring transition (see here) I received a lot of emails requesting more options, so here come the leather pants….
Banana Republic top, BCBG Sweater (old but I love this one on sale here), J Brand bottoms (love the spring version here and here), Burberry belt (mine is sold out but I am coveting this similar one here), Saint Laurent bag (not available but love this albino leopard version here and love this luxe for less version here), Zara heels (no longer available but love these similar here), Gurhan ring, Chanel watch, Cartier bracelets, Ted Rossi python bangles, Ray-Ban aviatorsContinue reading →
I hope you had a wonderful weekend! I am still coming down off of cloud 9 from my photo shoot with Marie Claire on Saturday. I might not make it to the magazine, but it was such an honor to be asked (I never understood before why the actors at the Oscars all say “it was such a pleasure to be nominated”, but now I get it.) It is a form of validation when someone in the industry acknowledges that you are doing a good job, and fashion is a huge passion of mine so you can imagine what this meant to me.
Today I want to share some quick pictures I took on Friday – remember when I said the azaleas were inspiring my outfits lately (see here)? Today I want to share the actual azaleas that make me smile every morning.
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! I just got back from Rosemary Beach (aka paradise) and it was a bit chilly for the beach, but the temperatures crept up in the afternoons so I started out each morning bundled up and slowly shed layers. I am also insanely, wonderfully relaxed.
I recently had a day of pampering at Azur West (where I had my hair blown out into delicious soft curls coupled with some glam-looking makeup), followed by the #BLOGGERCRUSHxTOOTSIES event at Tootsies here in Houston. The afternoon was a delight filled with Petit Sweet macaroons, bites and bubbly…it was the perfect afternoon spent with some blogger friends. Thanks Lauren!
I hope everyone is having a great week and getting ready for Thanksgiving tomorrow. I LOVE Thanksgiving – it is my favorite holiday of the year. There is a charm to the day that no other holiday holds for me. It is a day spent with your loved ones (family, friends or in my case both). We spend all day cooking and congregating around the kitchen, and there is no sense of urgency for the day – the joy is in the time spent in and of itself. Some of my favorite memories are the laughter and the story telling that happens when you have no where to be and nothing to do. It is like family magic.
Each family has its own traditions, and we like to go around the table and say what we are thankful for each year. I am thankful this year (like every year) for my amazing family, for their support and love, my fantastic friends, my new blog venture and for you, my readers, for tuning in three times a week. What are you guys thankful for this year?
