Hope everyone has had a great week! Just wanted to share a quick post today. I came across this top and I adore it. The double panel in front is amazing because it ensures I do not have to wear a camisole underneath. Makes the top much more user-friendly! I added a few of my favorite fall trends to complete the outfit – choker and platforms!
I want to share what I wore when I went to see Salman Rushdie last week. I love crop tops – not everyone does but I love the versatility they offer. Especially, how I can layer them in different ways for fall! This plaid top is perfect for the cooler temperatures and my new favorite jeans are a match made in heaven. The plaid print and the tuxedo seam are also spot on for the borrowed from the boys trend which is quite popular this fall but with a definite feminine twist.
The week has gone by so quickly – it is amazing how much time it takes to get the house back in order after being out of town for a few weeks. I am enjoying catching up on my shows since I have been TV free all summer. I just picked up a show on Netflix called Peaky Blinders. Can I say I am completely ensnared with it? It stars Cillian Murphy (I dig the Irish accent) and is a British historical crime drama about gangsters operating in Birmingam, England during the aftermath of World War I. Check it out and let me know your thoughts.
I bought this skirt on a crazy sale and absolutely love it! It is the softest silk and I love the flirty feminine bounce. I can’t wait to wear it again! I wanted to keep the look chic and simple and since I am at the beach flats (I can’t remember the last time I wore so many flats).
I hope you have been having a wonderful week! If this morning drive is any indication I think it is going to be a great weekend. I don’t want to say this out too loud – but is there a chill in the air? Also, where is all my morning traffic? I say we shouldn’t look a gift horse in the mouth. I am going to go break out my blazer and scarf ASAP.
Hope everyone is having a great week! It is actually a little known fact that I have a secret love for flying. I took these pics outside the Air and Space Museum – I have always wanted to take flying lessons (even the current book I am reading is called The Aviator’s Wife!) The idea of being so free and soaring above the earth gives me great joy, and to me it seems like a miracle of sorts. If you will indulge me and let me share a poem (you may have read it before, but if not I am delighted to be the first to introduce it to you) – it sums up the idea of flight perfectly.
Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I’ve climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
of sun-split clouds, — and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of—wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov’ring there,
I’ve chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air….
Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue
I’ve topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace
Where never lark nor even eagle flew—
And, while with silent lifting mind I’ve trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.
Hope everyone has had a fabulous week! I am thoroughly enjoying my visit here to Washington, DC. Shopping in Georgetown, playing tourist at monuments and museums, dining out on fabulous food (and eating my Mom’s delicious home cooking), and squeezing in some fun time with family and friends. The trip has been packed with activities, so when I leave the house in the morning I want to be dressed for comfort and versatility. I wore this casual outfit running around some great museums (yup, in the heels!)
