I hope everyone is having a great week! I just returned from Rosemary Beach (my personal heaven) from a mother-daughter getaway with my sweet baby girl. How often does a girl turn seven? I enjoyed every second of the big weekend, and it was amazing watching her with her friends (it’s funny how you can see glimmers of who they will be when they are old enough for their own weekend getaways….) I can only imagine the future (insert crazy eye emoticon).
I have been anxious to restyle this sleeveless blazer (styled here with jeans). This blazer is perfect for the Houston heat, and I decided to style it with a flirty fun skirt to show its versatility. Since the last styling was casual cool, I went uptown chic with it this time (it does go with everything). I added the super high heels (always) and some fun jewelry (remember when I styled it here with an all white summer look) and I was ready to roll for sunset cocktails. Why call it happy hour when “sunset cocktails” sounds so much more civilized? (genius Dubai, just genius).
I hope you had a wonderful weekend! I enjoyed the lack of rain thoroughly until Sunday evening that is…but the rain allowed me to indulge in my favorite new podcast – Beautiful Stories from Anonymous People by Chris Gethard. Ever since the Serial Podcast I have pretty much become hooked and am always looking for a new one and the premise of this is hysterical. The host Chris Gethard who is a comedian by trade gets a phone call and he cannot hang up no matter what and cannot stay on the line for more than an hour. It is conversation at its best! I am amazed at how much is realized by individuals and some of it is hysterical and some is heart breaking. But the bottom line is nothing is off-limits – the anonymity created causes some pretty big revelations…check it out here.
I also did some summer shopping – summer travels are around the corner and since I will be spending most of my time at the beach I want clothing that can be transformed from casual to dinner or brunch chic. I came across this top and it has a Chanel-esque quality that I love! It is a bit shredded around the neck and the perfect light weight for summer. Also the boxy shape is silly comfortable!
I added the casual cropped denim, comfy gold slides and grabbed my Céline and I was ready to roll…
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! I managed to stay dry and really got into the cool weather on Sunday. I mean the leaves haven’t changed color, and the air has not been crisp so I had to take my 54 degree weather and run with it!
I am a little obsessed with red right now – it is not a color I normally gravitate towards but Mr. Wonderful does love it when I am in red. If all else fails I throw on my new favorite red lipstick (get it here). I wanted to get into the fall spirit by keeping everything else black. These are my absolutely new favorite pants – they are black denim with crazy amounts of stretch (yeah) and the added details of the tuxedo stripe and ankle zippers are spot on perfect. I can not stop wearing them and look forward to styling them in the next few weeks. Fringe is still very hot for fall and Christian Louboutin was way ahead of the curve when I bought these several years ago. I have listed my current favorite fringe shoes down below. The addition of the blazer polished up the entire outfit and I was ready for meetings, brunch and drinks.
Tuxedo pants (love them in this dreamy maroon with black tux stripe here)(40% with code BRSALE – I say get all the colors)
It is so good to be home! I just got back on Sunday night and I am absolutely delirious with jet lag. As a result I will keep todays post short. But briefly – my wedding was fantastic! It was good to see so many family and friends after such a log time. All the little kids I remembered are now in their teens and I barely recognized anyone. It was great to spend a little bit of time and have some good laughs and fun memories. I stopped in Dubai on the way back for a little girl time with my bestie and all I can say – it was love at first sight! My girlfriend really knows how to show a girl a good time because I ate at amazing food, did some fantastic shopping, and met some truly great women. I can’t wait to go back in December!
Today I want to share this asymmetrical skirt that I wore in Dubai. It is such cheeky fun and I kept it all simple with black T, black pumps and the pop of red came from my lips and my bag.

I am off to Ohio today to my nephew’s Baptism! I am really looking forward to holding that delicious baby! And of coarse, the cool Ohio temperatures (I am swooning) but here is another fun OOTD from Rosemary. I love shorts for summer and dressy shorts are a hard trend to master. However, the high rise and self tie are a great starting point – and coral is a fun color for summer! A monochromatic look is so effortlessly chic and so I played with shades of coral with peach and red as highlights. The necklace is a great tie to both pieces. Since I am a huge bargain lover (isn’t everyone) I love that the top, bottom and necklace are all under $100.
Yes – my eyes are closed in this pic because I was taking a moment to enjoy the sun, surf and sand!
Today I am sharing the last of the Rosemary pics! Since I was there for only 24 hours I did not venture far to take the pics, but with the view off the balcony I didn’t feel the need to go any further.
I wore this to brunch at one of my favorite sports – La Crema. This is a tapas style restaurant with a split menu with savory treats on left and sweet treats on right. I can never decide which side to favor.
White on white was a huge trend in the cooler months but there is something quite refreshing about an all white outfit in summer. Just putting it on makes you feel cooler instantly. When I saw this eyelet maxi skirt I knew it would be perfect for the beach and brunch (anywhere). I added the gold accents and fun shoes and I was ready to brunch and roll.
I hope everyone is having a great week! I have been very busy trying to get back into the swing of everyday life with its attendant responsibilities and deadlines. But, c’est la vie! Here is an outfit I wore running around town which took me from meetings to drinks post. Whoever said white can’t be worn after Labor Day didn’t live in Houston…
