Hope everyone is having a great week! I must confess I have taken up tennis these days (again) and I am completely addicted. It is the most beautiful time of the year to be outside enjoying this amazing weather but the the side effect of my new-found passion is that I have been a bit behind in posting.
One of my favorite recent trends is the midi skirt and it is still going strong for spring fashion. It is flattering on all body types and looks great dressed up and down. I have them in a range of colors – blush pink, forest green, grey, leather and a basic black. I have also worn this skirt with a fun sweatshirt and some skater kicks while running errands. It is perfect for every occasion!
I want to share what I wore when I went to see Salman Rushdie last week. I love crop tops – not everyone does but I love the versatility they offer. Especially, how I can layer them in different ways for fall! This plaid top is perfect for the cooler temperatures and my new favorite jeans are a match made in heaven. The plaid print and the tuxedo seam are also spot on for the borrowed from the boys trend which is quite popular this fall but with a definite feminine twist.
I hope everyone had a fabulous Fourth of July weekend! I love fireworks – they have such a great way of bringing out the inner kid in everyone! I mean they are sparkles in the sky and who doesn’t love sparkles!! 🙂
I had a leisurely weekend so I thought I would share a casual chic brunch outfit with you today.
Zara crop top (check out my favorite options below), Marimekko for Banana Republic shorts, Zara clutch, Nadine Boutros necklace, pearl earrimgs via St. Barts, Hérmes watch, Cartier bracelets, Ippolita ring, ZeroUV sunnies
Greetings from the Nation’s Capital – Washington, DC! I went to college and law school here so this city holds such a special place in my heart. I get nostalgic for that time in my life any time I visit – this is where I made the transition from my parents’ home to adulthood. I am fortunate to still have some great friends here to visit, and one of my college roommates happened to be in town from the other side of the world. How lucky can you get? I love old friends that know you in a way that new friends don’t – before you had a career, a husband and kids. When my biggest concerns were whether I should go out on a Saturday night dancing to Sesto Senso or to the 18th Street lounge for a chill evening….ahhh priceless.
Washington, DC has changed so much since I lived here. The city is expanding and changing rapidly but the beauty remains the same. You go to the mall and visit the monuments and it feels so peaceful and serene. I took these pics in front of the reflecting pool at the Lincoln Memorial and had a fun afternoon sightseeing.
I hope everyone is having a great week! I am sorry for going MIA but I was on a little get-away for the weekend with the hubby. Believe it or not there was no Wi-Fi – it was probably a blessing. When I arrived back in Houston the temperature had taken a serious spike, so I decided to style a crop top.
