I hope everyone is staying warm in this deep freeze going on across the country! I am running out of sweaters – so I need it to warm up just a smidge. I think I may have turned into a bear the last few weeks and consequently I have been practicing my hibernating skills and not posting.
The one positive thing about this weather is – perfect for a fire, a blanket and a good book. I am doing the GoodReads challenge for 2018 and have pledged to read 50 books this year. A bit daunting but I think it can totally be done! I just finished reading The Dry by Jane Harper – it is a murder mystery. I generally do not enjoy these types of novels because I figure them out too easily but this one had me guessing until the very end. I loved it!
After the holidays I wanted to incorporate some sequins into my looks – why give the sequins up? I think everyone needs a good pair of black sequin leggings. They are a great piece to dress up or down depending upon the occasion. I wore mine with a simple black top and added a fringe cropped blazer for a fun element. The sequin leggings look just as good with a basic chunky black sweater, or a satin shirt and a long blazer, or a white button down and black moto jacket…the possibilities are endless! Invest in a pair – I promise you won’t regret it.
Happy Wednesday! Some weeks it feels like a big accomplishment just to make it to the middle of the week – do you know what I mean? The endless rain has dampened my spirit this week. But I want to share one of my favorite pieces of outerwear today – the cape!
I thought I would continue with the theme of Holiday Party Styling today with some winter whites. I have expressed my love of monochromatic dressing (here) and how they are the epitome of chic. Today I wanted to take that concept and spin it for the holidays.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Halloween! My neighborhood was besieged by hordes of tiny, cute monsters, princesses and superheroes. I have enough candy left over that I will probably be eating it through next Halloween. On the fashion front, I felt it was time to share my favorite color again today – blush pink!
