I hope everyone’s is having a good week! I am starting to prep for my holiday travels and I can’t wait to be off to Dubai and Oman next week. It will be the perfect combination of city fun and pure rest and relaxation. I can not wait to share pictures!
Gray is my neutral color of choice and I love finding new colors to pair it. Blush pink is my stand by color combo with gray, but it also looks great with yellow, black and purple! It is not a secret that I adore leopard – in all its forms! This purple button down is a great layering piece (styled here with distressed denim) and combined with my gray jacket and flares it became the perfect combo for casual running around.
Hope everyone is having a great week! I am just getting off of the high of seeing Salman Rushdie at the Inprint reading on Monday night. He was absolutely incredible – his knowledge of literature to politics to history is absolutely incredible (so pretty much everything). And his sense of humor is divine – have I ever mentioned how much I love a funny guy? I can not wait to start reading the book – Two Years Eight Months and Twenty-Eight Nights (i.e. 1001 Arabian Nights).
The borrowed from the boys category is a full on trend this season (see my tux and button down styled here) and what says prep school more than a navy blue blazer? This particular blazer received my attention because of the sleek white satin lapel which gave it a cool twist. While the gold buttons on the sleeves kept it classic. It is a great way to incorporate the boys trend and still keep it modern and not “literally” borrowed from the boys. I also wanted a dash of fun and girly so the button down in the cobalt leopard was just what I needed to complete the look. I can’t wait to wear my leopard again! The fringe shoes are still going strong so if you haven’t purchase a pair yet – check out my fun high and low finds below.
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! I am fully relaxed from my quick getaway to Rosemary Beach. I will share a post from Rosemary on Wednesday but I wanted to share this adorable dress that would be universally flattering on any body time. This 60s-mod dress becomes updated with modern details like the leather pockets. It makes me want to put leather pockets on all my dresses!
I hope everyone had a wonderful summer! Sorry I have been missing for so long, but I really wanted to take the summer off and focus on my family and friends. It was an absolutely amazing summer of travel adventures and I cannot wait to share pictures with you. I am starting today with pics from Rosemary Beach – or as I like to call it, Paradise on earth.
J. Crew top, Chanel bag, BCBG belt, ZARA shoes, pearl necklace, tassel necklace Per•spi•cas•ity, Cartier bracelets, Gurhan ring, Chanel watch, Zero UV sunnies
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! The weather here has been a great change of pace – it was down right chilly for me yesterday as I went cherry picking. It was so much fun and the cherries were so tart. I think “we” might (by we I mean my mother) try making a cherry pie today….WISH US LUCK!
I want to share some great deals I have found on the web lately to help cure the Monday blues.
Heritage Sequin Stripe Racerback Tank
I love this sequined top from Banana Republic – the color, the sparkle and the stripes. It is the trifecta of fun!

TARTAN PRINT MIDI SKIRT
I love the black and white plaid tartan pattern of this Forever 21 midi skirt. It is a fabulous print and the silhouette of this skirt is spot on. At this price point I don’t think you can go wrong.
JASON WU SNAKE PRINT STRAPPY SANDALS
The color, the print and the pattern…..it was love at first site…These Jason Wu sandals are also 60% off. Don’t wait get these beauties before they sell out.
I adore this clutch! The perforated hearts pattern is so fun and the metallic silver will look great with everything!
I hope everyone has been staying warm during Polar Vortex II! It has been hard to focus on fashion when all I want to do is camp under my comforter with a good book (which I may have indulged in a tiny bit this week…) This is the first year that I can honestly say I am anxiously awaiting the Houston summer (I know those of you in colder climates are laughing at our reaction to 30 degree temps!) In the interest of taking your (and my) mind off of winter, I have decided to share some pics I took a few weeks ago while it was still pleasantly warm.
I hope everyone is having a wonderful week so far! I have some exciting news to share – the article Winter Whites & Gold Midas Touch is featured in this week’s Independent Fashion Bloggers Project Roundup #124 as one of their favorites. Independent Fashion Bloggers is a site with over 52,000 members, each with their own fashion blogs. Each week they have a fun contest featuring different themes. Congratulations to all the other winners it was a fabulous selection of Winter Whites. And thank you to the IFB for this amazing honor – it was the perfect holiday gift for me to receive this season!
How happy do I look?
As the holidays are almost upon us, I want to share some hostess gift ideas that I have seen and given this holiday season.
I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend! I am having so much fun with all of the holiday celebrations that have begun. As much as I love Thanksgiving (seen here), what I love most about this time of year is all of the beautiful decorations and light displays that happen around town. The thoughtfulness that goes into all of the windows and homes can’t help but warm the heart.
Today I want to share my second style from the Isabel Marant pour H&M collection (last style seen here).
Isabel Marant pour H&M skirt; J. Crew top; Red Valentino jacket; Manolo Blahnik shoes (love these here and here); Target Necklace; Nadine Boutros ring; Cartier bracelets; Miu Miu sunnies; Laura Mercier lip gloss
I must confess I have one reality television addiction – Project Runway! I love watching the show because it illustrates the creative process from start to finish – everything from the original spark that starts the design, the material selection, the real world problems encountered by designers, the fittings and the final styling of the outfit. I love following every step of the process.
