Hope everyone had a wonderful (albeit very chilly) weekend! I went cycling this weekend – I had to buy many accessories I never even knew existed like “sleeves”, “leg warmers”, under shell and gloves to go over my gloves) and I bit the big one. Yup, I fell and I fell hard. Good news is the bruises are all on my legs so you can not see them unless I am in a skirt. But I have been trying out various cover ups to make them less noticeable (a bit hard when the one on my knee is a half-dollar size and purple).
As Houstonians we wait desperately for this time of year. There is something so right about extremely chilly weather this time of year. It gets me prepared for the holidays – starting with my favorite holiday of all Thanksgiving. It is time to pull out my cashmere sweaters because chances are it will only last a day or two (current forecast for Thanksgiving is 80 degrees so I will be keeping the doors open in the family room).
I came across this cashmere sweater and absolutely love that the zipper is in the back. Today I turned it around so I could wear it as a cardigan. I have worn it both ways and you guys know I love a multifunctional piece of clothing (see here and here). The soft gray color had me (of course) excited to pair it with pink. These pink skinny pants might be the best pants ever made (they also come in every color imaginable). They are my new find and I LOVE them! They contain the right amount of stretch which makes them extremely flattering. Also, the fit is perfect around the waist and the length is just right for fun pumps.
Sweater (also love it in black and olive green) (30% off right now online)
Pants (I love all the colors!) – 30% off online with code SHOPNOW
I hope your having a great week! I am still recovering from serious jet lag – I hear it is one day per each hour of time difference. That puts getting back to Houston time at 10 days for me. Ouch….
I wanted to share some funny stories – like the fact that my iPhone completely stopped working the second I left the US. No camera, no apps (i.e. no books to read), no email, no Candy Crush or Words with Friends. It was actually very strange to be so disconnected but at the same time kind of liberating (after days of frustration). It was a very peaceful 10 days (other than when I couldn’t find my girlfriend at the airport for an hour).
Flares are all the rage this fall and winter, and since we live in Houston I took advantage of the no one cares it is after Labor Day (who even follows the after labor day rule about white?). I came across these flares and fell in love with them. They are perfect because they are not bright white but have a tinge of ivory to them. Perfect for winter! I added a red tunic and gold belt and I was ready to roll. This Taylor & Tessier necklace is also a current favorite of mine. I can’t stop wearing it – it goes with everything!! I wore it everyday while I was traveling.
I hope everyone is having a great week! Usually I love my shoes to be colorful and fun, but these simple black shoes are chic and timeless. Throw on a pair of tapered pants or a pencil skirt and you are set to go.
I hope everyone has had a great week! I am getting into the Christmas spirit – the tree is up, the stockings are hung and the holiday parties are in full swing – day and night! A holiday dress is always a good idea but separates give the opportunity to be a bit more creative.
Hope everyone had a great weekend! When I started #tuesdayshoesday it was to open up a dialogue. This conversation may be good or bad but fashion ultimately is about expressing yourself. That means different things to different people. I am pushing the ante a bit today – tell me would you?
Hope you’re having a fabulous week! We all know I love leather pants (see here and here), and they have become such an integral part of my wardrobe that I cannot remember a time without them. After the last post on Spring transition (see here) I received a lot of emails requesting more options, so here come the leather pants….
Banana Republic top, BCBG Sweater (old but I love this one on sale here), J Brand bottoms (love the spring version here and here), Burberry belt (mine is sold out but I am coveting this similar one here), Saint Laurent bag (not available but love this albino leopard version here and love this luxe for less version here), Zara heels (no longer available but love these similar here), Gurhan ring, Chanel watch, Cartier bracelets, Ted Rossi python bangles, Ray-Ban aviatorsContinue reading →
The weather has turned glorious here in H-town and I hope everyone is enjoying it! (Dear friends in other parts of the country – spring will come soon I promise!) I might actually be skipping through town with that song by Pharrell playing in my mind – you know the one…
Because I’m happy
Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof
Because I’m happy
Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth
Because I’m happy
Clap along if you know what happiness is to you
Because I’m happy
Clap along if you feel like that’s what you wanna do
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday with family and friends! I have been traveling the last few weeks and I thoroughly enjoyed spending quality time with everyone, but I am so glad to be home. It is true that there is no place like home.
