I thought I would continue with the theme of Holiday Party Styling today with some winter whites. I have expressed my love of monochromatic dressing (here) and how they are the epitome of chic. Today I wanted to take that concept and spin it for the holidays.
It was the ruffle blouse – I fell in love with it when I saw it and bought it in two colors (as seen here). I often believe that if you truely love something (in a swoon worthy kind of way) that you should buy it in more than one color (that goes triple for pants that fit well…)
During holiday party season the general go-to color is black, and there are usually a lot of sequins involved as well. I am a fan of that look as you know (seen here), but I think it is also important to experiment with fashion and try new things, so today I have embraced some winter whites. It is important to keep the weather in mind when wearing white during the winter (being in Houston we have some leeway given that it is currently 73 degrees). In colder climates, experiment with different fabrics (cashmere, heavy silks and wool) to make your look seasonally appropriate. If the temperature is truly unforgiving, you can always top it all off with a white coat!
I love the touch of muted gold accessories with a cream white because they are so complimentary to one another.
These shoes are giving my other shoes a complex these days because they get to come out so often.
How will you be wearing your winter white this holiday season?
